Looks like a mass exudus from the carson city DA's office. Employees are sick of Rombardo's temper tantrums. Plus, the dude is getting divorced because he screwed one of his deputies.

Anonymous said...

Can you say: election year?

Anonymous said...

Just what the market needs, a glut of trial experienced attorneys. Can we get back to the days when those of us that trial experience were wined & dined and offered big incentives to jump firms?

Anonymous said...

Are there enough deputies in Carson City to have a mass exodus?

I am shamelessly re-posting my plea from the other comment string:

Is there a way we can shame the real men and women of litigation to run for the bench? Just look at how one of the best and most ferocious attorney in town, Kristina "hot cakes" Pickering, ran for office, allegedly because she was mortified at the idea that Allf would become a Justice.

If the Law is a calling and not just a license to print money, we, as the young babes in the magical woods, must unite to do something, anything, from letting it all go to waste.

Awand found guilty on tax charges-what affect, if any, does this have on next months "medical mafia" trial? If Awand rolls, Vannah, Eglet and Gage are screwed, but I'm not sure what the odds of that are (though I tend to think they are not great).

9:51 The "real men and women of litigation" don't want to take a pay cut. Once in a while there will be one that has political or status related aspirations or someone that wants a more regimented schedule but generally those that can't do Judge.

If he or she is doing it as a pay raise then he or she is not qualified.

Anonymous said...

That sucks about Carson City. I know some very good trial lawyers there.

@10:07: I worked with Neil Rombardo when he was an DAG here in Vegas. Real a**hole

Anyone else read the Philadelphia Lawyer book? Funny, not Tucker Max funny, but ok.

I can relate to his premise that only those misfits willing to accept that 80hours a week doing doc review is necessary to get ahead should practice law, or go to law school. Unless you just going to school as an extension of the drugs, sex, and drinking of college. For those reasons I beleive we should have mandatory grad school in our 30's. Can you think of a time more in need of 3 years of drinking, screwing and being in a stoned haze?

Theme of the day...share your best stoned story of the past three years. if you don't have one, keep your mouth shut about the dangers/stupidity of drug use.

"If Awand rolls, Vannah, Eglet and Gage are screwed"

Schupp?
Arin?
Kraft?
Lemper?
Ganz?
Oliveri?
Baker?
Clauretie?
Dunn?
McNulty?
Prince?
Others?

Kozmary?

Awand's tax convictions are misdemeanors. Diffifult to imagine there will be jail time.

His lawyer is crying poormouth. But with the money he made here in Vegas is it a stretch to think there are offshore accounts?

Anonymous said...

Biggar?
Other judges?

Anonymous said...

Gloria Navarro is getting a lifetime appointment to be a US District Judge. WTF? Is anyone else outraged by this?

Anonymous said...

@10:53:

Schupp?- Not a chance (feds could care less about him).
Arin? Not likely.
Kraft? Possible.
Lemper? Possible.
Ganz? Not a chance.
Oliveri? Possible.
Baker? Not likely.
Clauretie?Not a chance in hell.
Dunn? Not a chance in hell.
McNulty? Possible.
Prince? Not a chance in hell.

Eglet and Vannah are the primary targets, anybody else is just icing on the case.

What would an open box thread be like with a Troy Fox update:

Troy Fox is running for mayor of Carson City.

You know, in law school and my first 5 years of practice, I thought it would be really neat to be a judge. I thought, wow, for once I could decide things the way I thought, I would actually read everything people filed, I would research things to get the right answer, and I would actually apply the rules of civil procedure and evidence.

As I continue into my career (I am ten + years out now and thus could run), the desire has dimmed. It's not just the money, but I just wonder how great it really is to be a judge--especially in state court. Who wants to go through all that re-election crap, fundraising, etc.?! I can certainly join in the chorus of people deriding our state court judiciary, but I wonder if it is people like me--the (IMHO) qualified ones--who just say no way in hell will I ever run cause it just ain't worth it, that are part of the problem.

Perhaps it is the position and the political nature of it that attracts knuckleheads like Nancy Allf. Yes, she was state bar prez and a bunch of other useless do nothing positions, and yes, she seems to be a perennial candidate (she reminds me of the Reese Witherspoon character in "Election"--the driven girl who thought she was doing everything right but still nobody really liked her), but really, it does take a special breed of person--something I'm not really sure I want to be in life--to even want to be a judge.

I like the best college drug story.

The best I have (really, never got that into drugs - drinking hell yes, drugs, not so much) - falling in a campfire stoned. Yah, not that exciting.

Anonymous said...

6:17 pm - thoughtful commentary.

Now, let's go back to Navarro. Perhaps the diversity will work wonders as she imports Mexican concepts of justice into our lame ethnocentric monoculture of law.

Anonymous said...

Navarro is of Cuban descent idiot.

Anonymous said...

On this medical mafia list, just curious, who is Baker? I have no clue who that might be?

Anonymous said...

@10:30,

Then perhaps instead of concepts of justice she can import cigars?

Anonymous said...

What's the deal with airplane peanuts?

Anonymous said...

Libo should run. I'd love to see that Bentley among the Lexus' and Prius' in the judges parking lot. They even have a Handicap Spot or two right next to the gate for him.

Anonymous said...

Cubans = Mexicans on a Island.

I worked for Neil Rombardo in Carson a couple of years ago. The prob he has is that he does whatever his bald chief Melanie Bruketa tells him to do. He is her b*tch.

Anonymous said...

Anyone know why Edward (Randy) Miley is no longer on the doc for court? He was set for next week to appear for the domestic abuse and dog killing. Since wifey doesn't want the divorce did she have this "thing" go away? Hard to believe but this is Vegas.

Anonymous said...

Baker is Steve "Kabins and I are so close we sometimes don't know which one of us is which" Baker

Anonymous said...

Baker? Get real. He's one of the finest, most ethical attorneys in town. Mark Kabins is one of the best surgeons in the world. Greed got him. This story will be a yawn fest until someone gets convicted...of something.

She must have used her Christmas money to pay off the bad check.

Thanks tfml for keeping us updated.

Reason for UPDATE ~

There are other existing warrants for Terry Figliuzzi Mosley, WHO LEGALLY HAD HER LAST NAME CHANGED to MOSLEY.

She stoled the furniture, from her former landlords VALUED over $40,000., and she never paid the rental car company, the rental fees for keeping their car from October 08, to June 09!

Hot checks aren't the only thing this woman does, criminally. Check out the police reports!

Her many lawsuits in Clark County will describe her lack of character, and the numerous attorney's that "tried" to defend her, while she hasn't paid her existing attorney fees.

I just want people to be protected by this predator!

Anonymous said...

"I just want people to be protected by this predator!"

Well that doesn't sound very nice.

What's the deal with this Todd Leventhal fella? Informed general thoughts welcome, uninformed blather tolerated.

Anonymous said...

Hummmm, Terry Mosley was harassing me for a while to get me to help her. Another attorney and I were chatting in Henderson JC one day and she approached us. She tried to pass herself off as an attorney. Only later did we discover who she was. Then she called me for months.

Want to know why "Real Men and Women of Litigation" don't run? Political fall out. A friend of mine had the courage to run against a sitting judge last go around. This judge makes terrible decisions and yells at attorneys and litigants alike. Friend lost, but the judge did all she could to punish her. My friend lost being on the list of pro temp masters. That cost her money to the tune of her child's private school tuition. But who cares if she has been doing it for ten years? She has to be punished for losing? No thanks!

Anonymous said...

Terry Mosley, told her former landlords, that she was an attorney, as well. Strange thing is, she doesn't even have her, Bachelor's Degree. Too many deposition's by her plaintiff's, from numerous lawsuits, regarding her misrepresentation of her true identity.

She also represents to individuals, that she is / was
married to a judge.

Anonymous said...

Maybe Terry Mosely thinks she is a lawyer because of her vast experience as a litigant. She has been sued approximately 20 times in the last 20 years. What a grifter.

Anonymous said...

@ 2:43 PM

I totally agree with your post, regarding Terry Figliuzzi, aka Terry Fields aka Terry Mosley.

How much have Clark County tax payer's paid to have Clark County Judges, hear her deceits?

Why doesn't the media do a thorough investigation on her background and report it, so there won't be any future victims?

They could start with "why" her parents don't want anything do with her, and then, proceed with her education, and talk to all the plaintiff's (who don't know each other) YET THEY TELL THE SAME STORY, of "what" she did.

I live in California, and Terry, presented herself as a realtor AND
the wife of a Judge in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was diligient in getting me to close on a loan. I went through the loan documentation, to learn that the deal she wanted to do, WASN'T the standard, for this type of deal. When I told her NO, she became hostile and threatened me, with "WHO" SHE WAS. I did my own research on her, to learn that she is not "WHO" she represents herself to be. Google is wonderful reference source and so is the Public Records in Clark County. I am thankful, that I did not do the loan.

Could have been - Victim!
